PronunciationHub
Privacy Policy
What we collect, why, and how to control it.
Last updated: 2026-05-23. This policy covers PronunciationHub (pronunciationhub.com). Questions: [email protected].
Information we collect
We collect the minimum needed to keep the site working and improve it:
- Server logs. Your IP address, user-agent string, the page you requested, and the timestamp. Stored in standard web-server logs and rotated routinely. Used for security (rate-limiting, abuse detection) and basic traffic counts.
- Analytics (Google Analytics 4). Anonymized usage data — pages viewed, time on page, referrer, country/region, device class. We do not enable Google Signals or cross-device tracking. Default retention is 14 months.
- Advertising (Google AdSense). Pages may display ads served by Google. Google and its ad partners may set cookies and similar identifiers to measure ad performance and, with your consent, personalize ads. See how Google uses information.
We do not collect names, email addresses, payment info, or account data, because we don't have accounts. We don't sell personal data. We don't use fingerprinting beyond the cookies described below.
Cookies and similar technologies
This site sets the following classes of cookies / local storage:
- Strictly necessary (no consent needed): a single
phub-consententry in your browser's local storage that remembers your choice on the cookie banner. No expiry; cleared by clearing site data. - Analytics (consent required): Google Analytics 4 sets cookies prefixed
_ga/_ga_*. They expire after up to 2 years. - Advertising (consent required): Google AdSense and its partners may set cookies prefixed
__gads,__gpi,IDE, and others. Lifetimes are set by Google; typically 13 months in the EEA/UK.
On your first visit you'll see a banner asking whether you accept analytics and advertising cookies. Until you accept, the analytics and AdSense scripts are not loaded and no such cookies are set. You can change your choice any time by clicking , or by clearing your browser's data for this site.
If you reject, Google's ad tags (where they appear) will run in Consent Mode v2 "denied" state — meaning no ad-personalization and no ad cookies are set; you may still see non-personalized ads.
Third-party services we use
- Google Analytics — Google Privacy Policy · opt-out add-on.
- Google AdSense — Ads policy · Ad personalization settings.
- Cloudflare (CDN) — fronts the site and may set a
__cf_bmbot-management cookie (strictly necessary, 30 minutes).
Your rights
Under the EU/UK GDPR, the California CCPA/CPRA, and similar laws you may:
- Ask what data of yours we hold (we mostly hold nothing identifying you).
- Ask us to delete it. Email us with the date range and we'll comply.
- Withdraw consent at any time using the cookie banner.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
We honor browser Do-Not-Track and Global Privacy Control signals as a "reject" for analytics and advertising consent.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 (under 16 in the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has interacted with the site, contact us and we'll purge any related logs.
Data retention
Server logs: 30 days rolling. Analytics: 14 months (Google's setting). Cookies: see lifetimes above. We don't keep any user data beyond what's required to operate the site.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change this policy we'll update the "Last updated" date and, where practical, re-prompt the cookie banner. Routine wording fixes are not flagged.
